Principal's Bio

I have been the Principal at Walsh since 2002. My teaching career began in a small private school on the banks of the Connecticut River in East Haddam. It was through my experience at Becket Academy that I discovered my calling to work with young people. Since that time back in 1978 I have been a counselor, special and regular ed teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal.

I grew up in New York, Massapequa Long Island to be exact, after living in Toronto, Atlanta, Savannah, and Brooklyn. I enjoyed a typical childhood with an emphasis on playing pick up games of baseball. football, and basketball with the neighborhood kids. Stoupball and stickball were the games of choice when you couldn't find more than one friend with whom to play.

I attended Wagner College and eventually graduated from SUNY @ Oneonta with a degree in Economics and Business Administration. Next was graduate school at the University of Hartford where I earned my Masters in Special education and Southern Ct. State University which lead to my 6 th year degree in School Leadership which includes Administration and Supervision.

I have been very happily married for seventeen years to my wonderful wife Joann. We have two sons, Gavin and Seth, both of whom are in high school.Our passions include the Red Sox, travelling, skiing and snowboarding, the beach at Montauk, music, and anything on wheels. We live right next door in Guilford.
